We are excited to announce an upcoming major upgrade to NexusCMS: the implementation of a dual-registration system designed to enhance account management across both the main website and game emulator expansions.
How It Will Work
- Primary Registration (Website Account)
- Every user will first create an account on the main website.
- These credentials will be securely encrypted using either bcrypt or Argon2.
- This primary account serves as the foundation for all subsequent actions, ensuring a unified and secure authentication process.
- Expansion-Specific Registration (Emulator Accounts)
- Users will be able to register an account specifically for the expansion they wish to play.
- While the username will initially be shared between the main website and emulator accounts, we are evaluating the possibility of making it independent.
- These expansion accounts will remain linked to the primary website account, enabling seamless administrative actions and cross-platform management.
Why This Matters
- Enhanced Security: The main website account ensures a robust authentication layer with modern encryption standards.
- Flexibility: Players can choose where to play without affecting their primary identity.
- Effortless Administration: Linked accounts allow for centralized user management, making it easier to handle permissions, bans, and other administrative tasks.
This integration is a major step toward a more connected and efficient ecosystem within NexusCMS. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue developing and refining the system!
